‘Affordable healthcare has ensured significant savings for poor, middle class,’ says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on World Health Day on Thursday and prayed for everyone’s good health and wellness. He expressed his gratitude to all those associated with the health sector.

“आरोग्यं परमं भाग्यं स्वास्थ्यं सर्वार्थसाधनम्॥

Greetings on World Health Day. May everyone be blessed with good health and wellness. Today is also a day to express gratitude to all those associated with the health sector. It is their hardwork that has kept our planet protected,” tweeted PM Modi.

He said that Ayushman Bharat and PM Jan Aushadhi schemes are playing a vital role to ensure good quality and affordable healthcare for everyone.

“The Government of India is working tirelessly to augment India’s health infrastructure. The focus is on ensuring good quality and affordable healthcare to our citizens. It makes every Indian proud that our nation is home to the world’s largest healthcare scheme, Ayushman Bharat,” said PM Modi in a tweet.

“I feel very happy when I interact with beneficiaries of schemes such as PM Jan Aushadhi. Our focus on affordable healthcare has ensured significant savings for the poor and middle class. At the same time we are strengthening our Ayush network to further boost overall wellness,” Modi added.

He also said that in the last 8 years, the medical education sector has seen rapid transformations. Several new medical colleges have come up. He informed that the Government of India is making efforts to enable the study of medicine in local languages which will give wings to the aspirations of countless youngsters.

‘Parivarwadi’ parties have never allowed the youth of the country to progress: PM Modi

The Bharatiya Janata Party today is celebrating its 42nd foundation day.

Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi took a dig at the opposition parties while addressing the party’s workers, MPs and MLAs on the occasion of its 42nd foundation day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that family-led parties have never allowed the youth of the country to progress.

“These parties have never allowed the youth of the country to progress. Today, we should be proud that BJP is the only party that is making the country aware of this challenge, warning the country about it,” said PM Modi.

Narendra Modi said that the BJP is dedicated to “rashtra bhakti” while the opposition stand for “parivar bhakti”.

“Two kinds of politics are going on now – one is parivar bhakti, other one is rashtra bhakti. There are some political parties in different states that work only for interests of their respective parivar,” said PM Modi.

Amit Shah also wished all the BJP workers and tweeted, “Under the leadership of Narendra Modi ji and J P Nadda ji, BJP is moving towards the welfare of the nation with constant service. I wish all the workers a Happy Foundation Day.”

PM Modi, Amit Shah pays tribute to freedom fighter Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji on his birth anniversary.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said that Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji will always be remembered by the nation for his contribution during the freedom movement and even after Independence.

“Tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji on his birth anniversary. Our nation will always remember his remarkable contribution be it during the freedom movement or after Independence. He was widely admired for his administrative skills and concern for the poor,” tweeted PM Modi.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram Ji.

“The life of Babu Jagjivan Ram ji, synonymous with equality and struggle, was devoted to the upliftment and empowerment of the downtrodden, downtrodden and weaker sections of the society. His dedication to India’s independence and post-independence development of the nation is commendable. Salute to such a pioneer of social justice on his birth anniversary,” tweeted Amit Shah in Hindi.

Born in Bihar in 1908, Babu Jagjivan was the defence minister of India during the India-Pakistan war of 1971. Babu Jagjivan Ram was also the deputy prime minister of the country between 1977 and 1979.

During India’s Independent movement, Babu Jagjivan Ram worked towards equality for the ‘untouchables’.

“India-Nepal open borders should not be misused by unwanted elements,” says PM Modi

On Saturday in a press conference, PM Modi said that the friendship between India and Nepal is unique and cannot be seen anywhere else.

“The friendship of India and Nepal, the relationships of our people, such an example is not seen anywhere else in the world. Our civilization, our culture, the threads of our exchanges; are connected since ancient times. We have been companions of each other’s happiness and sorrows since time immemorial. The basis of our partnership is the mutual relations between our people and the exchanges between them. These give energy to our relations, maintain them,” said PM Modi.

PM Modi said that the introduction of Jayanagar-Kurtha rail line will make great contribution to smooth, hassle-free exchange between the people of the two countries.

“Prime Minister Deuba ji and I have also agreed to give priority to the initiatives on trade and cross border connectivity in all respects. The introduction of Jayanagar-Kurtha rail line is a part of this. Such schemes will make great contribution to smooth, hassle-free exchange between the people of the two countries,” said Modi.

He also talked about the introduction of the Rupay card in Nepal and other projects like Nepal Police Academy, Integrated Check Post at Nepalganj and Ramayana Circuit etc. he said that this projects will bring the two countries closer.

Modi emphasized on how the open borders between India and Nepal should not be misused.

“We also discussed today the issue of Open borders of India and Nepal being misused by unwanted elements. We also stressed on maintaining close cooperation between our defense and security institutions,” PM Modi said.

PM Narendra Modi, CM Mamata Banerjee extends greetings on the commencement of Ramzan

On Saturday Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended wishes for the sacred month of Ramzan.

PM Modi took to Twitter and said, “Greetings on the commencement of Ramzan.”

He further said, “Best wishes on the commencement of the sacred month of Ramzan. May this holy month inspire people to serve the poor. May it also further enhance the spirit of peace, harmony and compassion in our society.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also took to Twitter to extend his wishes and said, “Ramzan Mubarak! May this pious month bring good health, peace and prosperity to all.”

West Bengal Mamata Banerjee also extended her greetings and tweeted, “On the start of Ramazan, my heartiest greetings and best wishes. May you be blessed by Allah with strength and fortitude to observe the month.”

India-Australia Signs Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, and Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Government of Australia, Dan Tehan, MP, signed the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement on Saturday, in a virtual ceremony in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison.

The India-Australia ECTA is the first trade agreement of India with a developed country after more than a decade.

The Agreement encompasses cooperation across the entire gamut of bilateral economic and commercial relations between the two friendly countries, and covers areas like Trade in Goods, Rules of Origin, Trade in Services, Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures, Dispute Settlement, Movement of Natural Persons, Telecom, Customs Procedures, Pharmaceutical products, and Cooperation in other Areas.

Eight subject-specific side letters covering various aspects of bilateral economic cooperation were also concluded as part of the Agreement.

The ECTA between India and Australia covers almost all the tariff lines dealt in by India and Australia respectively. India will benefit from preferential market access provided by Australia on 100% of its tariff lines. This includes all the labour-intensive sectors of export interest to India such as Gems and Jewellery, Textiles, leather, footwear, furniture, food, and agricultural products, engineering products, medical devices, and Automobiles.

On the other hand, India will be offering preferential access to Australia on over 70% of its tariff lines, including lines of export interest to Australia which are primarily raw materials and intermediaries such as coal, mineral ores and wines etc.

As regards trade in services, Australia has offered wide ranging commitments in around 135 sub sectors and Most Favoured Nation (MFN) in 120 sub sectors which cover key areas of India’s interest like IT, ITES, Business services, Health, Education, and Audio visual.

The negotiations for India-Australia ECTA were formally re-launched on 30 September 2021 and concluded on a fast-track basis by the end of March 2022.

Australia is the 17th largest trading partner of India and India is Australia’s 9th largest trading partner.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, India-Australia bilateral trade for both merchandise and services is valued at US$ 27.5 billion in 2021. India’s merchandise exports to Australia grew 135% between 2019 and 2021. India’s exports consist primarily of a broad-based basket largely of finished products and were US$ 6.9 billion in 2021. India’s merchandise imports from Australia were US$ 15.1 billion in 2021, consisting largely of raw materials, minerals and intermediate goods.

India and Australia are partners in the trilateral Supply Chain Resilience Initiative (SCRI) arrangement along with Japan which seeks to enhance the resilience of supply chains in the Indo-Pacific Region. Further, India and Australia are also members of the recently formed Quad, also comprising US, and Japan, to further enhance cooperation and develop partnership across several issues of common concerns.

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2022: Don’t force your ‘unfulfilled’ dreams on students, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, teachers and parents in Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC), on Friday at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

PM Modi talked about New Education Policy (NEP) and said that it is a ‘National’ Education Policy and not a ‘New’ Education Policy. He said that the policy was drafted after a lot of brainstorming with various stakeholders.

“Consultation for National Education Policy has been exhaustive. People across India were consulted on this” he said.

He said that the 20th century education system and ideas can not determine our development trajectory in the 21st century. He further said that we would be left out and go back if we don’t evolve with the changing systems.

He said that National Education Policy gives the opportunity to follow one’s passion and stressed the importance of skill along with knowledge.

He said that’s the reason to include skills as part of the National Education Policy.

PM Modi asked the parents and teachers not to force their unfulfilled dreams on the students.

“Unfulfilled dreams of teachers and parents cannot be forced on students. It is important for every child to follow their own dreams” said the Prime Minister.

He urged the parents and teachers to accept that every student has some special ability and to discover that.

Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event in which the Prime Minister interacts with students and responds to questions related to examination stress and studies.

President Kovind, PM Modi greets people on Utkala Dibasa

‘Come again’, says PM Modi to 72 retiring Rajya Sabha members

On Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi bid farewell to the 72 Rajya Sabha MPs who retired from their positions. He said that the experience of the members of Parliament was more valuable than academic knowledge.

Bidding farewell to the 72 Rajya Sabha MPs PM Modi said, “Though this is a farewell but as they say in Bengali, ‘Ami aaschi’ or in Gujarati – ‘Aao jo’ – ‘come again’. That’s what we want to say ‘Come again’.

PM Modi said that experience has more power than academic knowledge. He also said that all MPs should take their rich experiences to all parts of the country.

“Our RS Members have a lot of experience..sometimes experience has more power than academic knowledge,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister added, “We have spent a long time in this Parliament. This House has contributed a lot to our lives, more than we have contributed to it. The experience gathered as a member of this House should be taken to all four directions of the country.”

A total of 72 members are retiring from the Rajya Sabha, including Anand Sharma, AK Antony, Subramanian Swamy, M C Mary Kom, Swapan Dasgupta.

President Kovind, PM Modi extends greetings to people of Rajasthan on Statehood Day
