Meta is currently the parent corporation of Facebook. The social media behemoth changed its name to Meta. This is due to Zuckerberg’s desire to expand outside the bounds of social media and avoid having his company be known solely as a social media company.
Facebook wants to be known as a technological firm and wants to change its gears to futuristic technology and goods with the new platform.
Zuckerberg stated, “Today we are seen as a social media company, but in our DNA we are a company that builds technology to connect people, and the metaverse is the next frontier just like social networking was when we got started.”
Facebook is only a social media app now as the name of the parent company has been changed. Under the new platform, Zuckerberg plans to bring apps and technologies under one new company brand.
The names of other Facebook-owned social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram remain unaffected by the rebranding.
Zuckerberg had already launched Oculus and other virtual reality products.
Users will be able to do almost anything like get together with friends and family, work, learn, play, shop, create.
Meta would let users experience the world of virtual and augmented reality through its new glasses and other virtual reality devices.
About the privacy and security of the new platform, Zuckerberg has said that the company will focus on it.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her visit in Goa declared that Goa, like Bengal, is her “motherland,” and that she is not there to “grab” power.
Mamata Banerjee quoted, “I am just like your sister, I didn’t come here to capture your power. It touches my heart if we can help people when they face trouble. You will do your job, we will just help you in the process.
She also quoted, “Bengal is a very strong state. We want to see that Goa is a strong state for the future. We want to see the new dawn of Goa. Somebody’s questioning ‘Mamata ji is in Bengal, how will she do it in Goa?’ Why not? I’m Indian, I can go anywhere. You can go anywhere.”
She added, “I believe in secularism. I believe in unity. I believe India is our motherland. If Bengal is my motherland, then Goa is also my motherland.”

Bollywood actress Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu joined the party earlier on Friday. TMC tweeted, “We are elated to share that Nafisa Ali and Mrinalini Deshprabhu have joined the Goa Trinamool Congress family today in the presence of our Hon`ble Chairperson @MamataOfficial. We wholeheartedly welcome both leaders!”
According to TMC’s press release, on October 24, about 300 people joined TMC during three different events that took place in the Panaji, Navelim, and Sanguem area of Goa.
Mamata Banerjee, after addressing Goa TMC workers, will meet the fishermen community in Panaji. She has also scheduled prayers at Mahalsa Narayani temple, Mangueshi temple, and Tapobhoomi temple.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said indiscriminate spying on individuals cannot be allowed on individuals, forming an expert panel to probe into the Pegasus snoopgate.
The expert committee will be headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice RV Raveendran.
The Chief Justice said, “We have chosen renowned experts to be a part of this committee. The experts are from cyber security and forensics backgrounds. This three-member committee will be headed by RV Raveendran, a former SC judge, and will have Alok Joshi as a member.”
The Supreme Court demanded the committee to file a report within 8 weeks adding that information gathered by agencies is vital against the fight against terrorism and it can interfere in right to privacy only when the topic addresses around the protection of national interests.
The petitions filed before the Supreme Court, includes senior journalists N Ram and Sashi Kumar, claiming the alleged snooping represented an attempt by the central agencies to muzzle the exercise of free speech and expression of dissent in India.
The statement also said, “This Court is cognizant of the state’s interest to ensure life and liberty is preserved and must balance the same. For instance, in today’s world, information gathered by intelligence agencies through surveillance is essential for the fight against violence and terror. To access this information, a need may arise to interfere with the right to privacy of an individual, provided it is carried out only when it is absolutely necessary for protecting national security/interest and is proportional.”
The petitions, filed on July 27, ask the Supreme Court to order the Centre to reveal whether the government or any of its agencies purchased a licence for Pegasus spyware and used it to conduct surveillance in any way, either directly or indirectly.
