Haryana: 3 women farmers were run over by a truck near a protest site

Near the farmers’ protest site at Delhi- Haryana border, a speeding truck ran over a divider which resulted in the horrifying death of three women, while they were sitting on the divider, waiting for an auto-rickshaw.

The police informed that, the driver of the truck ran away from the accident scene. Two of the women died on the spot while one died in the hospital, he added.

According to the report, the women belonged to the Mansa district of Punjab.
The accident occured closer to the Tikri border at Delhi’s borders where the farmers from Punjab, Haryana and other places have been sitting for nearly 11 months demanding the repeal of the three farm laws.

The victims have been identified as Amarjeet Kaur, Gurmail Kaur and Harsinder Kaur. The others who sustained injuries are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Waseem Akram, SP, Jhajjar, said, “A tipper, carrying dust, rammed into the group of women farmers. Two of them died on the spot. The injured were rushed to the civil hospital and referred to PGI Rohtak for treatment. One of the injured died on the way to the hospital in Rohtak, while two women are reported to be out of danger.”
