Now Bangladesh Visa Application Centre is in Siliguri!

The hassle of running between Kolkata and Siliguri for the processing of the visa is over as, Siliguri and North Bengal gets their own Visa application centre for Bangladesh. Before this, the only visa application centre in West Bengal was in Kolkata. The centre was opened on Wednesday at International Market on Sevoke Road in Siliguri and was inaugurated by the CEO and Deputy Manager (Indian Operation)of Sonali Bank Rawshan Jahan. It was also announced that at the start-up stage the service of Visa Application will be available at the Sonali Bank as well.
Officials said that approximately hundreds of applicants from North Bengal used to travel to Kolkata for the processing of the visa. They estimated that couple of hundred applications will be submitted in the centre, if the Covid protocols are lifted.
The officials said the processing of Visa will take approx. 7 days to 10 days and will cost Rs 825 per person inclusive of GST with an addition of Rs 400 as courier charge.
The tourism industry of the two countries also expressed their joy as this will encourage more people to travel and will accelerate the business growth with Bangladesh. It is expected that with this move the relationship between the countries will also improve more.
