Pakistan has no locus to talk about what’s happening in J&K: External Affairs Ministry

India on Thursday asserted that Pakistan has no locus standi to talk about J&K. While answering questions at a weekly media briefing External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson, Arindam Baghchi said that it is wrong for Pakistan to say anything regarding J&K even if it is a general comment.

“It is wrong for Pakistan to say that, if they are talking in that way by looking at Jammu and Kashmir, and if it is a general comment, then also it is wrong,” External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson, Arindam Baghchi said at a weekly media briefing.

“In any case, I think Pakistan has no locus to talk about and from this perspective on what’s happening in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on April 25, tweeted about PM Narendra Modi’s visit to J&K, saying India is trying to create false normalcy there.

“Indian PM’s staged visit to IIOJK & laying foundation stones of hydroelectric projects, in contravention of Indus Waters Treaty, is another desperate attempt to project false ‘normalcy’ in occupied territory. We stand with Kashmiris as they rejected the visit & observed Black Day,” tweeted PM Modi.

 

Two Lashkar-e-Taiba Terrorists, one carrying a journalist card, killed in J&K

On Wednesday two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Rainawari area of Srinagar.

Police said that one of the terrorists identified as Rayees Ah Bhat, killed in the encounter was carrying a press card.

“One of the killed categorised local terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT was carrying Identity Card (ID) of media. It indicates a clear case of misuse of media,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted quoting IGP Kashmir.

Rayees Ah Bhat was a former journalist who later joined the ranks of terrorists. He used to run an online news portal ‘ValleyNews Service’ in Anantnag.

“Killed terrorist (Rayees Ah Bhat) was earlier a journalist &was running online news portal ‘ValleyNews Service’ in Anantnag. Joined terrorist ranks in 8/2021 &was categorised ‘C’ in our list. 02 FIRs are already registered against him for terror crimes,” tweeted Kashmir Zone Police.

 

The second terrorist has been identified as Hilal Ah Rah of Bijbehara.
