Nitin Gadkari Constitutes Expert Committee To Enquire Into E-Scooter Fire Incidents

Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari has said several mishaps involving Electric Two Wheelers have come to light in the last two months. It is most unfortunate that some people have lost their lives and several have been injured in these incidents.

In a series of tweets on Thursday Gadkari informed that an Expert Committee has been constituted to enquire into these incidents and make recommendations on remedial steps. He further said that based on the reports quality-centric guidelines for Electric Vehicles will be issued.

“We have constituted an Expert Committee to enquire into these incidents and make recommendations on remedial steps. Based on the reports, we will issue necessary orders on the defaulting companies. We will soon issue quality-centric guidelines for Electric Vehicles,” tweeted Gadkari.

Gadkari said if any company is found negligent in their processes, a heavy penalty will be imposed and a recall of all defective vehicles will also be ordered.

An Ola e-scooter on March 26 caught on fire instance in the Dhanori Area of Pune, Maharashtra. And a few days later On 28 March Okinawa’s e-scooter caught fire in Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

Oil India Limited commissions India’s first 99% pure green hydrogen plant

Oil India Limited (OIL) has taken the first significant step towards the Green Hydrogen Economy in India with the commissioning of India’s First 99.999% pure Green Hydrogen pilot plant, with an installed capacity of 10 kg per day at its Jorhat Pump Station in Assam on Wednesday. The plant was commissioned in a record time of 3 months.

The plant produces Green Hydrogen from the electricity generated by the existing 500kW Solar plant using a 100 kW Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) Electrolyser array. The use of AEM technology is being used for the first time in India.

Chairman & Managing Director, Sushil Chandra Mishra said that the plant is expected to increase its production of green hydrogen from 10 kg per day to 30 kg per day in future. He further said the company has initiated a detailed study in collaboration with IIT Guwahati on blending of Green Hydrogen with Natural Gas and its effect on the existing infrastructure of OIL.

बालू उत्खनन के खिलाफ जिलाशाशक ने चलाया अभियान

उत्तर दिनाजपुर जिले के चोपड़ा थाना के चीतलघाटा में बालू उत्खनन के खिलाफ जिला शासक के नेतृत्व में अधिकारियों के एक दल ने अभियान चलाया।

बारिश के समय सभी प्रकार के उत्खनन कार्य को बंद रखने की सरकारी विज्ञप्ति जारी की गई थी। इसके बावजूद आरोप उठ रहे थे कि इस इलाके में अवैध रूप से नदी से बालू पत्थर का उत्खनन होता है। आज सुबह जिला शासक अरविंद कुमार मीणा ने इलाके का दौरा किया। उन्होंने इस मौके पर महानंदा नदी के बांध का भी परिदर्शन किया और स्थानीय लोगों के साथ बातचीत की। स्थानीय लोगों ने उनसे कहा कि इस इलाके में बालू उत्खनन का काम बंद होने से भारी संख्या में लोग बेरोजगार हो गए हैं। इलाके के बांध की भी हालत सोचनीय है। लोगों ने जिला शासक से अनुरोध किया कि महानंदा नदी के बांध के मरम्मत की व्यवस्था की जाए।

आसमान में उड़ान को परिंदे हुवे आजाद

देखने में बहुत ही आकर्षक होते है तोते। आकाश में उड़ते ये आजाद परिंदे बरबस ही लोगों का मन मोह लेते हैं।

दुर्भाग्य की बात यह है की कुछ लोग इन्हें पिंजरे में कैद कर रखते हैं। पिछले कुछ महीनों में उत्तर बंगाल में अचानक तोतों की तस्करी बहुत ज्यादा बढ़ गई है,यह भी चिंता का विषय है। कुछ गिरोह इस क्षेत्र में सक्रिय हैं, जो पता नहीं क्यों इन निरीह पक्षियों की तस्करी में लगे हुए हैं। इसी क्रम में आज वैकुंठपुर फॉरेस्ट डिविजन के सारूगाड़ा रेंज के वनकर्मियों ने दो युवकों को गिरफ्तार करने में सफलता हासिल की, जो तोते की तस्करी कर रहे थे। गुप्त सूत्रों से जानकारी पा फूलबाड़ी कैनल रोड इलाके में वन कर्मियों ने अभियान चलाया और तस्करों के चंगुल से 55 तोतों को रिहा करवाया। जिन लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है, उनके नाम दिनेश दास और सज्जाद आलम है। ये दोनों बिहार के निवासी बताए जा रहे हैं। वन अधिकारियों के अनुसार ये तोते मालबाजार से बिहार तस्करी के मार्ग पर थे लेकिन वन कर्मियों के प्रयासों से इन तोतों को बचा लिया गया। इसी बीच पर्यावरण और वन्यजीव प्रेमियों ने क्षेत्र में तोतों की तस्करी पर चिंता जताई है। ज्ञात हो कि हाल ही में दो-दो बार कोलकाता जोगबनी एक्सप्रेस से रेलवे पुलिस बल ने भारी संख्या में तोतों को तस्करों के चंगुल से बचाया था। जलपाईगुड़ी जिले के गौरूमारा वन विभाग के कर्मियों ने गोरुधोरा इलाके से 60 तोतों को छुड़ाया था। इसके बाद सिलीगुड़ी संगलग्न फूलबाड़ी इलाके से आज 55 तोते बचाए गए हैं। जिन लोगों को मामले में गिरफ्तार किया गया है, उन्हें जलपाईगुड़ी अदालत में पेश किया गया। घटना की जांच शुरू हो गई है। आजाद परिंदे पिंजरे में अच्छे नहीं लगते। जो लोग इनकी तस्करी में लगे हुए हैं उन्हें सजा मिले, यह सब चाहते हैं।

उत्तर बंगाल में भारी बारिश की चेतावनी

उत्तर बंगाल में भारी बारिश होने की चेतावनी जारी की गयी है। बंगाल की खाड़ी से निम्न दबाव को देखते हुए 27-29 जून के दौरान जोरदार बारिश के साथ उत्तर बंगाल के जिलों में नदियों के पानी से स्थिति खराब हो सकती है। उत्तर बंगाल के जिलों में 30 जून से 3 जुलाई के दौरान अत्यधिक भारी वर्षा होने की संभावना बनी हुई है। इससे नदियों का जलस्तर बढ़ जायेगा और ग्रामीण जीवन को नुकसान पहुंचेगा। इतना ही नहीं इससे दार्जिलिंग और कलिम्पोंग जिलों में भूस्खलन के खतरे की प्रबल संभावना है। वहीं नगर क्षेत्र और निचले इलाकों में जलजमाव के खतरे होंगे।

Karnataka govt gives nod to proposal to include transgenders in OBC category

The Karnataka government today submitted before the Karnataka High Court a proposal to include transgenders as one of the categories in “Other Backward Classes” (OBCs) for the purpose of recruitment.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Ashok S. Kinagi was hearing a petition filed by an organization named Sangama, challenging a police constable recruitment notification, since it violated the transgender person’s rights. The said notification said transgender people were not allowed to apply to the said posts.

The petitioner organization has urged the court to direct the respondents to treat transgender persons as a separate category in the appointment of special reserve police constables and bandsman posts and to make a reservation policy for them.

The state government submitted that a decision could be taken by the State government after consulting the State Commission for Backward Classes.

The bench, however, said that the role of the Commission in considering a backward class category was a question before the Court to be determined.
