Bhagwant Mann Takes Oath As New Chief Minister Of Punjab

On Wednesday Bhagwant Mann was sworn in as the Punjab Chief Minister at a mega event in Punjab’s Khatkar Kalan, Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village.

The AAP registered a landslide victory in the Punjab Assembly polls, winning 92 seats in the 117-member Assembly.

Bhagwant Mann, who was contesting from Dhuri Assembly constituency in Sangrur district, won by a margin of 58,206 votes over Congress’ Dalvir Singh Goldy.

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav congratulated Bhagwant Mann ahead of his oath-taking ceremony and hoped that the state will flourish under his leadership.

“Infinite congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Mann ji for the oath ceremony! It is hoped that under his able leadership, the crops of progress, brotherhood, and new outlook will flourish in Punjab,” Akhilesh Yadav tweeted in Hindi.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu also congratulated Bhagwant Mann and wished him a successful tenure.

“My hearty wishes to Thiru. @BhagwantMann, who is swearing in as Chief Minister of Punjab today. Tamil Nadu & Punjab share a long history of being vocal about linguistic rights & rights of the state in the Indian Union. Wishing the new government in Punjab, a successful tenure,” tweeted M K Stalin.
