The CBI on Sunday started the process of taking statements in the investigation of the Rampurhat murder. Meanwhile, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “if they (CBI) will only follow BJP’s directions, we will be ready to protest,” while addressing a programme in Siliguri today.

While speaking the Rampurhat incident she said that she still believes that there is a conspiracy behind all this. She welcome the Calcutta High Court’s decision and said that it’s a good decision that CBI took charge but also warned that if CBI only follows BJP’s direction they will protest.

“I still think there is a conspiracy behind the Rampurhat incident. CBI took over the charge, it is a good decision, but if they will only follow BJP’s directions, we will be ready to protest,” said West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Siliguri.

Talking about the incident, Banerjee, who is on a six-day tour of north Bengal, said, “A Trinamool worker was killed by another party worker. But only TMC is being criticised everywhere. We have taken several steps to investigate the matter and to know the original cause of the incident. Many such incidents have taken place in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tripura, and Assam. Our party workers were not allowed to reach the incident site, but in Birbhum, we never stopped any political party.”
