From November 1, WhatsApp will not work on THESE Android phones
WhatsApp will no longer support a lot of Android handsets as of November 1st. As a result of the change, users who have not yet backed up and exported their chats will lose them.
Users are instructed to switch to a suitable device to continue utilizing WhatsApp’s instant messaging service. The app’s list of supported devices includes Android 4.1 and later handsets. WhatsApp is also compatible with the most recent versions of iOS and KaiOS.
According to an updated FAQ website, WhatsApp will no longer support phones running Android 4.0.4 and older versions as of Monday. Affected users should switch to a suitable device and save their conversation history before the deadline.
WhatsApp hasn’t said which devices it will stop supporting. However, by following the procedures below, you can see if WhatsApp support for your Android device is ending.
If it’s Android 4.0.4 or older, you should consider updating to a newer smartphone.
If you’re one of the affected users, you can back up your chat history or export individual or group chats independently.
Alongside Android 4.1 and later versions, WhatsApp currently supports iPhone running on iOS 10 (supported by iPhone 5 and later models) and newer versions and feature phones such as the Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 running KaiOS 2.5.0 and later.
