PM Modi pays tribute to great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule

Paying tribute to the great social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he is widely respected as a champion of social justice who worked tirelessly for social equality, women empowerment, and boosting education.

“Mahatma Phule is widely respected as a champion of social justice and source of hope for countless people. He was a multifaceted personality who worked tirelessly for social equality, women empowerment and boosting education. Tributes to him on his Jayanti,” tweeted PM Modi.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to the noted social reformer and said, “Mahatma Jyotiba Phule ji not only gave women the right to respect and equality in the society by giving the mantra of women empowerment through education, but also created a progressive prosperous society by organizing the deprived and backward classes against the evils. His thoughts will always be the center of inspiration of the nation.”

Jyotirao Govindrao Phule was a great social reformer, philosopher and writer who fought against social discrimination. He also worked for women empowerment and for spreading education among the marginalised sections of society.
