PM Modi pays tribute to Jallianwala Bagh massacre victims
Paying tributes to people killed in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre on this day in 1919 Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that their unparalleled courage and sacrifice will keep motivating the coming generations. Modi has also shared his last year’s speech at the inauguration of the renovated complex of Jallianwala Bagh Smarak.
“Tributes to those martyred in Jallianwala Bagh on this day in 1919. Their unparalleled courage and sacrifice will keep motivating the coming generations. Sharing my speech at the inauguration of the renovated complex of Jallianwala Bagh Smarak last year,” tweeted Modi.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre incident happened on April 13, 1919, in which British troops fired on a large crowd of unarmed Indians protesting peacefully against the Rowlatt Acts in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar killing several hundred people and wounding many hundreds more.
