TMC stronger after elections may merge with other opposition parties.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is the largest opposition party in the Lok Sabha after the Congress. At the same time, after the historic victory in the recently concluded Bengal Assembly elections, the Trinamool Congress is now working on a strategy to expand the party at the national level and including other opposition parties with itself. Their strategy is to create an alternative to strong opposition in the country without the inclusion of Congress.
In view of this, Trinamool is now working towards strengthening itself. After defeating BJP in west Bengal Elections, TMC has started its expansion by joining those parties which are not part of NDA. It is also focusing on uniting those parties which are not with Congress such as Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal.
Trinamool is also trying to merge with the Samajwadi Party, as it is believed that Akhilesh Yadav seems to be disagreeing with the policies of the Congress in the UP elections. A senior Trinamool leader has claimed that a lot has changed in the assembly elections. We have to go to the House with a fixed agenda. A major problem with Congress is that they do not have any leader who will reach out to these parties and try to keep them connected. Somebody has to come together on one platform and gather these parties.
After taking over as the Chief Minister for the third time, Mamta Banerjee is going to visit Delhi under the same plan in the next few days. According to sources, she will be in Delhi for five days and may also come to the Parliament in the last two days. Mamta Banerjee has been a seven-time MP from Bengal. She turned to the state in the year 2011. Trinamool and Congress are going with different issues in the Parliament. If Congress is planning to raise the Rafale issue in the House, then Trinamool will go ahead with inflation and the farmers’ bill.
