Pushkar Singh Dhami takes oath as Uttarakhand CM
On Wednesday Pushkar Singh Dhami took oath as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, for the second time in Dehradun’s Parade Ground in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP president JP Nadda were also present.
Pushkar Dhami was administered the oath by Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh.
PM Modi congratulated Pushkar Singh Dhami and tweeted, “Many congratulations to Pushkar Dhami ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. In the last 5 years, Devbhoomi has made rapid progress in every field. I am sure that you and all your ministers will give further impetus to it, setting a new paradigm of development according to the aspirations of the people.”
The BJP won 47 seats in the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly in the recent state elections, while the Indian National Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party bagged 19 seats and 2 seats respectively. Independent candidates won 2 seats.
